The Manager at the Farriers Arms is 28 year old Sam White. It has always been a dream of his since having his first ever bar job in a pub in Hastings, East Sussex, at 15 years old to manage his own country pub and restaurant. It all started from collecting glasses to then being able to work behind the bar as soon as he was 18. Within a year he had become an Assistant Bar Manager as he obviously had a knack for the trade!

However, Sam has not always been in the pub trade! Sam Joined the Royal Signals when he was 19 and did his first of two tours in Iraq in 2003. He was in the Army for just under 5 years when he left to follow his previous ambitions. He actually left the army as a windsurfing instructor! He can explain all over a pint of Henry’s! This then saw Sam employed at The Hythe Imperial Hotel & Spa in Kent firstly as an Assistant Leisure Manager then later moving on as the Conference & Banqueting Manager after a very steep learning curve. It was this hard work and ambition that led Sam to be in the position he is now with the Farriers Arms.

Sam has an identical twin brother, Daniel, who funnily enough does exactly the same job but for a different pub near Hailsham. It must be in the blood! Sam is currently engaged to his wife-to-be Clare and has an 11 month old son, Harry. They are due to tie the knot in August this year. Sam was raised in a small village just outside of Hastings called Westfield and has two brothers and a sister.

Sam has now built his team since being with us to provide everyone with a warm welcome and exceptional service which they can take into the exciting challenges ahead. Sam has many ideas and objectives to take the Farriers Arms to being one of the best (if not the best) pubs in Kent!
